Glass balustrade
Glass balustrade replaces a solid or railed barrier with toughened glass, so a terrace, balcony or stairwell keeps its safety barrier without losing the view through it.

On the coast it does a second job. A glass panel is an effective windbreak, which can be the difference between an outdoor seating area being usable and being abandoned for most of the year.
It is rustproof, carries top safety ratings and has a guaranteed long life, which matters for a barrier that people lean on.
We fit it on houses as well as on commercial buildings. A balcony, a roof terrace or a Juliet balcony in front of a pair of upstairs doors is the same product and the same fixings as a shop stair, worked out for a different loading.

Worth knowing
What to think about before you choose
Frameless, channel or posts
A frameless system set into a base channel gives the clearest view and needs the most accurate substrate. A post system costs less and is far more forgiving of a floor that is not quite true.
Glass specification and loading
Barrier glass is laminated so that it stays in place if it breaks, and its thickness follows the loading the barrier has to take. A balcony on a public building and a domestic terrace are not the same calculation.
Handrails
A handrail is often required, and on a frameless run a slim capping rail is what allows the glass itself to be thinner. It is worth pricing both ways.
