Shop fronts and arcade glazing
A shop front takes more punishment than any glazing in a house. It is opened and closed hundreds of times a day, it is the first thing weather hits, and on a seafront it is doing that in salt air and wind.
Ours are built to specification rather than picked from a catalogue, and can be glazed with a variety of different glass depending on what the unit needs, whether that is impact resistance, solar control or simply the clearest possible view of what is inside.
We work around trading hours, because a shop front that takes a fortnight during the season costs a great deal more than the glazing does.

What to think about before you choose
Glass specification
Laminated glass holds together when it breaks and is the usual answer at street level. Toughened glass is stronger but goes to pieces when it does fail, which is a different problem on a shop front than it is on a window.
Doors and access
Width, threshold and how hard a door is to push all matter for access, and on a unit the public uses they are not optional. A low energy or automatic operator is often the simplest way to deal with it.
Working around trading
Most of the work can be done outside trading hours, and a temporary hoarding or a phased fit keeps a unit open. In a seasonal town the cost of closing usually dwarfs the cost of the glazing.
