Garage doors

Garage doors

White roller garage door closed in its side guides on a flat roofed brick garage

A garage door is the largest moving part of most houses and usually the largest single area of the front elevation, so it does more for the look of a property than its price suggests. It is also the part most likely to have been left alone for thirty years while everything around it was replaced.

An up and over door is one panel that swings out and up on a spring balanced frame. It is the traditional arrangement, it is the most economical, and it suits a garage with room on the drive for the leaf to swing through. A sectional door is made of horizontal panels that hinge as they rise and travel back along the ceiling, so nothing swings out beyond the opening. That matters where a car parks tight to the door, and it seals better round all four edges, which is worth having on a garage that doubles as a workshop or a store.

Both come in a wide range of finishes, both can be automated, and both are measured to your opening rather than trimmed to fit. Ask us for a look at the Garador and Hormann brochures below and we will come and measure up.
