Composite doors
A composite door is built from several materials layered together, with a solid insulating core and a tough moulded outer skin. That construction is why it is stronger, better insulated and harder to force than a standard PVCu door.
It is the door we would point most people towards for a front entrance. The Ultion 3 star cylinder is police approved to Secured by Design standards, and the insulation is roughly six times better than timber, which you notice in a hallway that used to be cold.
Wood effect finishes are available in a large range of standard, premium and bespoke colours, and low threshold and disabled access options are available where they are needed.

What to think about before you choose
Colour goes through the skin
The colour is part of the outer skin rather than a coat of paint on top, so a knock does not show a different colour underneath and nothing needs repainting. It also means the colour is a decision you live with, so take the sample home and look at it against your own brick.
The cylinder is the weak point on any door
Most doors that are opened without a key are opened by snapping the cylinder, not by forcing the frame. A 3 star cylinder is designed to resist exactly that. Check the star rating rather than counting locking points, which are the number most often quoted and the less useful of the two.
Side panels and fanlights
Where the opening is wider or taller than a single door, glazed side panels and a fanlight above keep the proportions right and bring daylight into a hall that would otherwise rely on the door glass alone.
